SUMMERFEST – THIS SATURDAY, July 29, 6pm-11pm This is the Adult Party of the year – book a babysitter if needed and come to the pool for a wonderful evening of food, fun, live music and swimming! For just $25 per person, you will get delicious pulled pork, freshly roasted down by the pavilion, vegetables and side dishes, dessert, a bottomless cup to fill with beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, live music to sing and dance to, and the chance to swim until 11pm – take a dip under the stars! It truly is a great evening and a chance to mix with friends and make new ones. Open to all, 21 and over – you do not have to be a member of the pool. A chance to introduce friends and neighbors to our fabulous neighborhood backyard! All proceeds go to the Renovation Repayment Fund – please support our pool and the new bath house! (This event is held RAIN OR SHINE – the pavilion protects us! And after a little rain, there is always sunshine). AND… we still need volunteers to make this party a huge success. The lunch bar at Kathy’s Korner will be open the remainder of this week 12-2pm. And then we change…. SUNDAY, JULY 30 – Ricardo’s will be open 1-5pm, with hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, snacks, drinks and ice-cream available for purchase. For weekdays in August, Ricardo’s will be open TUESDAY ONLY – noon-2pm (August 1, 8, 15) BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE ... Ricardo’s will be open EVERY SATURDAY & SUNDAY in August, 1-5pm. Come to the pool to cool off, enjoy a late lunch or early dinner, load up on snacks and enjoy your staycation! (Opening is subject to weather, and availability of volunteer staff – but we will do our best to keep this promise – please support this Lunch Bar, with all proceeds to the Renovation Repayment Fund.) | LOST & FOUND LAUNDRY There is a TON of lost and found laundry at the pool, most of which has been there for weeks. Please check the piles and you may find things that belong to you (and you may not realize they were missing!!) Beginning August 1, we will welcome and allow anyone to “take what they need, leave what they don’t” from the laundry bins. Towels and clothing, swimsuits and floaties – if you can use it, please enjoy. We are happy to “recycle” within our pool community, as all leftover items are donated at the end of the season. UPCOMING PARTIES TODDLER PARTY, ages 2-4 years, Sunday, August 6 (rain or shine!), 11am-1pm. KIDS PARTY, ages 6-8 years, Sunday, August 13, 11am-1pm. Bring drinks and a towel. Games, crafts and food will be provided (pizza, fruit and cold treats). Please have an adult stay on the premises for the duration of the party. Volunteers needed to help the party organizer. A chance for your kids to make new “pool” friends, and the parents can too! FLOAT NIGHT Every Tuesday from 7-8pm, take a float to the pool and enjoy the chaos with others! Enjoy an ice cream float at Kathy’s Korner from 7:30-8:15pm – just $1 each. Make a night of it and enjoy pizza, available from 6-7pm at Kathy’s Korner, with proceeds supporting the Barracudas Swim Team. Please check the sign-up genius on the website Boryhillcrestpool.net as there are three Tuesdays in August that still require volunteers to scoop and serve. All supplies are provided – just follow the instructions in Kathy’s Korner. MUMBLES & GRUMBLES The baby pool is open for children ages 6 & under – at all times. If you are new to the pool, please note that your older children are not allowed to swim in the baby pool during break time. This break time is a requirement by law, to ensure older children take a break, a rest room break, a water break and a chance to reapply sunscreen. It is NOT a chance to continue playing in the baby pool. Older children are often seen in the baby pool, perhaps due to their misunderstanding. So adults, parents, child minders, please know, and note, where your kids are. The guards will whistle to alert them to leave the baby pool area. We are happy that so many people are enjoying the grills for their own use and continue to be welcome to. However, contrary to popular belief, there is no “someone else” who magically cleans up after them. PLEASE leave the grills in the clean condition you find them – or cleaner!
