Cool Pool News – 2023 – No. 13

August is fast disappearing.
And the sun still hot as ever
But there’s still lots of swim time left.
With time management, you must be clever.

Pool is open 11am-9pm
Daily until school goes back.
From Monday 21st, it opens at 1pm
As back to real life, we must track…

Thanks to all who support the Summerfest a couple of weeks ago.  Like the Postal Service, neither rain, nor hail, sleet or snow (or in our case wild thunderstorms with possible tornadoes!) can stop us from gathering!  Thank goodness for the pavilion to shelter in (the money for building it, was raised at similar events back in 1999!)  Your support and financial generosity keep this pool open as our ‘neighborhood back yard.’
FRIDAY FOOD TRUCK FRIDAY — Empanadas De MendozaAugust 11 – 5 pm-7 pm
Take favorites of the Old World and serve them up with a smile from the New World, and you have delicious and delectable empanadas from this week’s Food Truck – Empanadas De Mendoza. You can check out their menu and pre-order at empanadasdemendoza.com.  Walk-ups welcome.
RICARDO’S LUNCH BAR, NOW SERVING TUESDAYS AND WEEKENDS ONLY – Saturday and Sunday, August 12 and 13 – Ricardo’s will be open 1-5pm, with hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, snacks, drinks and ice-cream available for purchase.
(For weekdays, Ricardo’s will be open for the final TUESDAY – 12-2pm on August 15.)

UPCOMING PARTIES
KIDS PARTY, ages 5-8 years, Sunday, August 13, 11am-1pm.  Bring drinks and a towel.  Games, crafts and food will be provided (pizza, fruit and cold treats).  Please have an adult stay on the premises for the duration of the party.  Volunteers are still needed to help the party organizer.  Sign up at https://broyhillcrestpool.net on the sign-up genius, or directly with Libby Dean at eabyrer@gmail.com.  Please support Libby as she brings back the traditional parties from bygone years.  A chance for your kids to make new “pool” friends, and the parents can too!

FLOAT NIGHT
Every Tuesday from 7-8pm, take a float to the pool and enjoy the chaos with others!  Enjoy an ice cream float at Kathy’s Korner from 7.30-8.15pm – just $1 each.  Make a night of it and enjoy pizza, available from 6-7pm at Kathy’s Korner, with proceeds supporting the Barracudas Swim Team. Please check the sign-up genius on the website Boryhillcrestpool.net as there is currently no-one signed up to scoop on August 15th – a float-less float night doesn’t sound so much fun!!  All supplies are provided – just follow the instructions in Kathy’s Korner.

LOST & FOUND LAUNDRY
There is STILL a TON of lost and found laundry at the pool, most of which has been there for weeks.  Please continue to check the piles and you may find things that belong to you (and you may not realize they were missing!!).
Now that it’s August, please take what you need, leave what you don’t from the laundry bins.  Towels and clothing, swimsuits and floaties – if you can use it, please enjoy.  “Shop” for next year – there are loads of SWIMSUITS – remember kids grow during the year…. We are happy to “recycle” within our pool community, as all leftover items are donated at the end of the season.

SUNDAY MORNING ADULT SWIM
Every Sunday, the pool opens at 10am for one hour of ADULT SWIM TIME.  Come float, get some lengths in, or just enjoy the company and peaceful surroundings before the chaos begins at 11am!

That’s all for this week!
