Just one month ago, it was cold and wet,
Ahh but a memory, and now you're all set
To jump and frolic, in our Cool Pool
It's certainly much better than work and school ...
Come make the most, of all the fun
Activities galore to enjoy in the sun!
Let's start with food for all to enjoy
(Avoiding the kitchen is really the ploy!)
Take a trip to the Caribbean this Friday with fresh, made from scratch, authentic recipes from SimpLee's family-owned and veteran-owned food truck. Enjoy the ultimate Jamaican/Caribbean experience with Jerk Chicken, Oxtail, Coconut Curry Shrimp, SImpLee's Wings, Rasta Pasta, Chicken Tenders with Fries, and more.
If you want to pre-order to ensure your favorites are hot and ready when you arrive at the pool, call: 571-589-5560 or email: Sales@eatsimplees.com. Walk-ups are also welcome. The truck will be in the parking lot from 5-7:30 p.m.
Our Barracuda swim team hopes to add one more win to its 2–0 record when it faces the Long Branch team from the Long Branch Swim and Racquet Club. The meet is scheduled from 9 AM to noon. Come cheer on our super enthusiastic team. (note that the meet usually ends about noon and the pool will open as soon as possible, 1 PM at the latest.)
The annual New Orleans Shrimp Boil is scheduled for THIS SUNDAY. It's a wonderful evening of food and fun. Dinner includes shrimp, spicy potatoes, corn, corn bread and coleslaw. Dessert is bread pudding with a particularly delicious sauce option available, or watermelon. But wait - there's more - a undisclosed feature drink, beer and wine will be available for a donation. All this for just $15 per person if preordered by Friday, June 27, or $18 at the entrance on the evening. Pre- order on the Cool Pool News bulletin board at the pool, or online.
The Annual Adult party Summerfest is planned for Saturday July 12th. It truly is a fun night with food and beverages (Brats, Butts and Beer), live music, late night swimming and loads of laughs. Details and pre-sale ticket options available on the website. Secure your babysitter now (if needed!), and invite your friends. The event is open to all in the community.
RICARDO'S is now open every Tuesday and Thursday from noon-3pm, with hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken patties, pizza, snacks, dessert items and drinks available for purchase. CASH only - come hungry and leave happy!
Every Tuesday from 7-8pm, bring any inflatable rafts you have to the pool, toss them in and enjoy fun and frivolity with family and friends. It's a fun time for all - and wind up your evening with a delicious ice cream float for for $2, served from 7:30-8:15pm.
Swim team also sells pizza before float night, available from 6pm. Make an evening of it!
July 4th is fast approaching, and you can start planning now!
All kids are welcome to join in the communal bike decorating in the pavilion from 4-7pm. Bring your sparkles and ribbons, and have fun adorning your wheels - 2,3 or 4 wheeled cycles are welcomed to enter the annual bike parade around the pool grounds on July 4th. Kids can decorate on July 3rd, and leave their wheels overnight under the shelter of the pavilion. We will provide a few extra decorations, but please bring your own to use and share with others. It's a fun time of color and chaos!
Pool will open at regular time for members. At 12 noon, pool opens to all in the community, to enjoy the beautiful "neighborhood backyard" of Broyhill Crest. Food will be sold from noon-2pm, but we are still in need of several VOLUNTEERS, to help register bike parade participants, set-up, cook and clean-up. Sign up to volunteer today and be that "someone" who makes it happen! Non-member guests can enjoy the pool from 12-4pm, and the pool will close for all members at 6pm, so everyone can enjoy the evening festivities elsewhere!
We ask and remind all members, that no food or beverages - other than water - be consumed on the deck. The deck area is all the area inside the chain link fence, where all the deck chairs and tables are located. We do this to keep the deck clean of food and sugary drinks that attract bees, ants and all kinds of critters. And to keep these things away from the pool water. Please respect this rule and enjoy your food and beverages anywhere outside this area, and please leave your eating area cleared of trash too! We all share this facility as family!
We welcome all to use the barbecues as they wish. But PLEASE leave them as you would want to find them. Brush off the food scraps and oil and empty the oil catch tray before you leave. "Someone Else" is getting a little tired of cleaning up after you! Also, please don’t start or begin grilling at 8:30 pm and beyond. We close at 9 p.m. and all grills should be shut off and cleaned, and all members and guests should be off the grounds. When we share a facility, we must always be considerate of others - not bad for life in general, I do believe!
See you at our Cool Pool!
