Summer is in full swing
And we hope you’re having fun
Plenty of opportunities
To enjoy good times in the sun

It takes a village to make it happen
And we truly have one here
Read on to find many ways
You can continue the cheer through the years….

FOOD TRUCK FRIDAY

When it gets too hot, get out of the kitchen....and grab dinner from the Food Truck! This week Supreme Kabob will be serving Mediterranean cuisine such as Kabobs, Gyros, Falafels over rice or salad or in a sandwich. Other items include curry, vegetable egg rolls, and for dessert, baklava.

Pre-order your dinner on Friday starting at 1:30 p.m. - walkups also welcome!

The truck will be in the pool parking lot from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Bring your dinner to Kathy's Korner for al fresco dining with friends!

FRIDAY HAPPY HOUR— A SPECIAL EVENING

This Friday there’s something new planned for Happy Hour in Kathy’s Korner.  Grab your food, bring a beverage, and enjoy your dining experience while listening to live music.  Jim and Paul, a folk duo,  will be singing classic folk music.  This musical experience is being given to us from a member who won this concert at a fundraiser for Afghan refugees and has given the treat to BCRC members.  We just hope the weather gods cooperate to make this happen!

SWIM MEET SATURDAY

This Saturday, July 12, our mighty Barracudas swim team are hosting a home meet.  The pool will open to members at the completion of the meet – usually around noon. All are welcome to come support the team and enjoy food available for sale at the snack bar.

SUMMERFEST – ADULT PARTY – JULY 12

This Saturday, July 12, the Annual Adult party begins at 6pm in the pool pavilion.  It is open to all members of the community – invite your adult friends and neighbors to come enjoy an evening of food, fun, live music and late night swimming.  Smoked pork and brats, vegetarian options, sides, desserts and beverages will be served.  Just $25 per person pre-sale (until 9 July) or $30 at the gate.  Support our pool and all the hard work that goes into making this happen…..speaking of which, volunteers are still required to help roast the pig, which happens overnight Friday in the pool grounds, just behind the pavilion.  Please check the pool website and signup to help out – volunteering is good for your health!

LOOKING AHEAD

On Saturday, July 19, the final swim meet of the year will be held at our pool.  It is the Divisionals, where all six swim teams in our division compete for top spots in all strokes.

It is a very busy day for many and will run until around 2pm.  Members can come and support the swimmers, enjoy food and fun items available for purchase (we are known as the Duck Pool) and find joy in enthusiasm of so many!  Thank you for understanding, and the pool will reopen as soon as the meet is completed.

VOLLEYBALL ANYONE?

The pool has a lighted court just waiting to be played on. If you are interested in any level of play, from strict rules to playing with a beachball, male, female, coed... show up Thursday evening at 7:30 down by the court, or contact Debo Burk at compostcorner333@hotmail.com. Indicate what levels you might be interested in and what days you are available. There is a possibility of being able to play year round.

Hope to see you soon!
