This Saturday, the pool will open
And as the weather currently shows
There will be sun and a few clouds
And the Cool part of Pool we all know...!
The Opening Day Picnic is a tradition
That we do NOT want to end
But, unless some of you sign up to help
It will be uncooked burgers for all who attend
Saturday at 11am - the first whistle will blow! Who will be brave enough to jump in first? Opening day picnic will be held in the pavilion, with food served from 5-6.30pm (assuming we have volunteers to make it happen!)
This is free to all members and it's a great chance to catch up with friends, neighbors and all your summer buddies!
This Friday - Columbian Station - 5-7.30pm
Kick off the summer with flavor and fun - featuring the incredible Colombian Station Food Truck. Come hungry and treat your taste buds to authentic Colombian cuisine - choose from cheesy Arepas, savory stuffed plantain baskets, crispy empanadas or their signature lechona (slow roasted pork!) By grabbing dinner, you are not only enjoying a delicious meal, you are supporting a passionate small business, bringing vibrant flavors and community spirit to our neighborhood!
No pre-order - just stop by and grab your favorites.
Note - due to parking lot paving, the lot will be closed Friday morning at 7 AM until Saturday morning so the food truck will be located at the end of Early Street.
If you have enjoyed the Opening Day picnic over the years, how about helping this year? Haul tables, cook the food, wrap the food, smile and enjoy. If you like Lost and Found laundry to be cleaned and returned to the pool, sign up for a 2-week stint to help out. Have you enjoyed the Summerfest Adult Party? Please help out and make it happen. P.S. We LOVE our pool, but it's floundering because everyone is just too busy, but we all love to relax and enjoy the neighborhood back yard! It is time to give back - without volunteers, we have nothing. This year we are offering a chance to sign up and receive text messages for "all things pool related". You will not be inundated with messages, but you will know if the pool has to close for weather related issues, what time it will reopen, if there is a swim meet that changes opening time etc. We are taking away the frustration of packing the family and driving to the pool to find that dreaded sign written on the board at the door!
