Well the countdown continues
Just a few days more
Until the pool opens
And the rains will pour....

Take heart and have faith
It's a happening place
For Opening Day picnic (delays?...)
Just watch this space...

Opening Day!

After several weeks of work, the pool is looking clean and ready to open - 11am Saturday, May 23.

That whistle will blow, and who will be first in??

And, being that we are a bunch of optimists, the Opening Day picnic is scheduled for 5pm on Saturday, May 23.  This is a free b-b-q, open to all members.  Hotdogs, hamburgers, baked beans and drinks will be available!  If it needs to be rescheduled due to weather, we will send a text message to all who are signed up and dinner will be moved to Sunday at 5pm.

HOWEVER - if you do plan to show up, and want to eat, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO SIGN UP TO HELP!  This village does not run on "someone else" power.  Currently we have one cook - no-one to set up, no-one to serve, and no-one to clean up.  If no-one volunteers, this annual tradition may just have to be cancelled - please do what's good for the community at our neighborhood back yard.  Sign up on the website and be sure to check out all the opportunities to volunteer this year - and remember we have a new system to keep track of volunteer hours, so make sure you get yours completed!

Food Truck Friday - Supreme Kabob!

Join us for another delicious Food Truck Friday at Broyhill Crest Pool! On Friday, May 22 from 5:00–7:30 p.m., we’ll welcome Supreme Kabob to the pool parking lot—rain or shine. Enjoy a flavorful menu featuring chicken and lamb kabobs, gyros, falafel, teriyaki, platters over rice, fresh salads, fries, baklava, and more. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Skip the wait and place your pre-order online.

Bring your family, neighbors, and appetite for a fun evening of great food as we prepare for the pool to open on Saturday!!

Community Forum & Free Swim - Thursday, 5/28 at 6:30pm

The Broyhill Crest Citizens Association (BCCA) needs your opinion on local issues.  We are meeting at the pool to discuss crime, noise, the Tysons casino, plans to allow apartments in existing homes, etc.

The BCRC is holding a simultaneous open house for prospective members.  Come help shape the future of our community and go for a swim afterward!

“What Is My America": BCRC Hosts 250th Wishing Tree Sign-Up Box

Throughout May and June residents throughout Mason District will be asked to write down their ideas about “What is My America” on ribbons, which will be collected and displayed on a “wishing tree”.

BCRC is happy to host a collection box for the Wishing Tree on Opening Day from noon to 2 p.m. in collaboration with the Mason District Arts Council. The Arts Council is sponsoring a number of activities throughout Mason District to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Look for the box and sign-up table at Kathy’s Korner.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Cool Pool (it may live up to its name this weekend, but rest assured summer will arrive soon!!)  Come check out the new and improved patio area, newly repaired playground, and the beautiful new coating on the pool interior.  It's a happening place!
